What Are the Risks of Using Chat GPT for My Property Management Company?

Now, before we talk about the ways that your property management company can use AI for good, we will need to talk about the risks of relying too heavily on Chat GPT. This is crucial for you to be aware of before you begin so that you can avoid the common pitfalls that many businesses experience when using Chat GPT to help them generate content.

The truth is, while Chat GPT can be an excellent and incredibly useful tool, we need to avoid using it too much, as this can bring a whole new set of issues to your business, including the following:

1. Google Tends to Favor High-Quality Content

The biggest risk that your property management company faces when using Chat GPT too much is inadvertently hurting your rankings with Google’s algorithm. The fact is, Google has always and will always reward high-quality content.

In their algorithm, Google is always looking for and prioritizing content that shows expertise, experience, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (also known as E-E-A-T).

has also recently communicated that it will always consider the quality of content first and foremost, regardless of how that content has been created by companies. So, how exactly does this relate to the dangers of relying too heavily on Chat GPT?

While Google may not be directly against content that is created using AI, that definitely does not indicate that it is a good idea to use it for all of your content creation. While yes, Chat GPT is an incredibly useful tool for anyone who creates content on a regular basis, you need to demonstrate the core characteristics of high-content (E-E-A-T).

Otherwise, your content will not be nearly as impactful as it should be, which can defeat the purpose of making content in the first place! At the end of the day, that kind of content can’t just be easily and automatically generated by AI.

It requires a solid amount of research, editing, and legwork to be done in a way that actually works to boost your property management company’s online presence.

Further, Google has stated that “using automation – including AI – to generate content with the primary purpose of manipulating ranking in search results is a violation of our spam policies.”

This means that ultimately, you want to avoid doing anything that can get you on the bad side of Google, because once you do that, it can be extremely difficult to recover.

When it comes to the online presence of your property management company, we believe that it is always better to take the necessary precautions than to risk harming your success in any way. So, while using AI to generate all of your content may be a tempting way to take the easy route, we recommend treading lightly.

Chat GPT may be the latest popular buzzword in the industry right now, and for good reason, but the long-term risks of relying too heavily on it far outweigh the short-term rewards.

As a company with a fair amount of first-hand experience using AI-generated content, trust us when we say that Chat GPT must be used strategically in order for it to really serve you.

2. Chat GPT Won’t Have All the Facts

At the end of the day, Chat GPT doesn’t really know the difference between true and false. It simply does not have the facts.

Since Google rewards content that is high quality and useful, if you rely too much on Chat GPT to generate your content, you won’t get the same benefits that you would from content written by a professional.

The main reason for this is that Chat GPT has been programmed based on data that only goes as far back as 2021. While this limitation will most likely be fixed in time, at the moment, it is a real detriment to any AI-generated content.

That being said, if you are using Chat GPT for SEO content, then this won’t be your primary risk as you will (hopefully) have someone there to manually fact-check and edit the content before it is posted.

However, we strongly advise against using AI-generated content on any of your company’s primary online reference points, such as your property management company’s website.

How Can I Use Chat GPT for My Company?

Now that we have effectively covered all of the risks that can come with using Chat GPT for your property management company, let’s talk about the ways that you can use it to your benefit.

1. You Can Use It to Boost Your Next Brainstorming Session

So, you’re just starting to use Chat GPT to help you create some content for your property management company. We recommend starting off by asking it to generate a list of new topics for you to write blog posts about. Chat GPT will most likely give you a wide range of new topics to choose from!

Once you get the hang of it, you can start to get more specific. For example, if your main target is rental property owners, we recommend asking Chat GPT to generate a list of the top 30 topics that owners search for when wondering about how better to manage their property.

Once it has created this list, you can get even more specific by having it give you a list of the top 20 blog post ideas related to each topic. This will give you hundreds of new ideas to choose from.

However, it is important to note that Chat GPT cannot actually give you accurate search volume information when it comes up with these results. This means that you will want to do more in-depth research on which topics have the highest search volume before you commit to the topics you will be writing about.

2. You Can Use It to Create Outlines for Blog Posts

So, now that you have a list of great topics and ideas for your property management company’s next few blog posts, let’s talk about how Chat GPT can help you in the actual article writing process!

While it is true that it is altogether too risky to have Chat GPT write your next article for you in full, you can use it to help you create a solid outline to base your article on. But how?

On Chat GPT, you can generate an outline for your blog post by providing it with the specific topic and target audience. This will provide you with a great framework for your content that you can then go in and manually edit, adding all the high-quality facts and expertise that you can.

A long article becomes a lot less overwhelming when you have a solid outline to use as a guide!

3. You Can Use It to Create Outlines for Video Content

When it comes to online content, more and more business owners across every industry are seeing real, tangible results coming from investing in video content. This is especially true for property managers!

With video content being so popular in our current online marketing landscape, we have seen more property managers than ever wondering how they can use video content to boost their visibility. The trouble is, many simply do not know where to start.

If you find writing articles and blog posts to be a daunting task, then chances are you are even more intimidated by the idea of making video content. We understand! If you have never used video content to promote your company before, it can be hard to wrap your head around creating high-quality, valuable videos for your business on a regular basis.

Luckily, our team of seasoned professionals is pretty well versed in the process of high-quality content creation, and that includes video. In our opinion, the best way to get the ball rolling toward success with video content is to create a great outline.

In a similar fashion to creating a blog post outline, you can generate a script and video outline on Chat GPT. Simply follow the exact same steps as you did with generating an article outline, only for this content, you will be placing a focus on generating a script.

Once you have gotten a solid outline that you feel great about, you will be able to go in and really write your script, using the outline as a guide for your work. Then, all you have to do is get ready to shoot the video!

4. You Can Use It to Find Better Titles for Your Content

You can spend hours creating your next video or blog post just to get stumped when it comes time to top it off with the perfect title. We get it, it can be hard! Luckily, this is one area where Chat GPT can be extremely useful.

All you have to do is ask it to generate some ideas for you to use, and when it comes time to choose one, you will be sure to have more than a few solid options to pick from.

To start, we recommend asking Chat GPT to generate five blog title ideas for you to look over. Or, if you have already come up with a decent title that you are simply looking to improve a bit, you can ask Chat GPT to come up with some title alternatives that are based on the one you have already come up with.

For example, let’s say that you have written an article that details how property owners can find more high-quality tenants for their vacant rental homes, and you have landed on the title “how to find great tenants for my rental property.”

In our opinion, that isn’t a bad title at all! It’s accurate and to the point. But if you’re looking for more options or want to improve it a little, you can use Chat GPT to generate some other ideas for you to consider. Overall, this is a great way to brainstorm strong titles for your content quickly and easily.

5. You Can Use It to Come Up with Social Media Posts

Part of being a business owner in this day and age is having a regular presence on social platforms. This includes Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter (now the X app). For many, this can feel like an exciting part of marketing your business, however, it is necessary.

Luckily, if you are having trouble coming up with content for these platforms, Chat GPT can help you brainstorm.

Here are some prompts that you can give Chat GPT to generate post ideas for each social media platform:

Instagram:

  • Write a brief and professional Instagram bio for a Property Management Company in Dallas, TX
  • Generate ideas for five different Instagram posts that a property management company can make about their services
  • Generate a list of the best hashtags for a property management company to use on Instagram

Facebook:

  • Give me 10 conversation-starting topics that I can post about in my property management Facebook group
  • Tell me the most popular and successful kinds of Facebook posts for property management companies
  • Generate a Facebook post that discusses all of the benefits of hiring a property management company.

Twitter:

  • Give me a list of 10 funny tweets about why property owners need to be working with a property manager
  • What are five possible tweets that are related to my services as a property manager
  • What are some ideas for a Twitter thread about property management?

6. You Can Use It to Write Vacant Rental Property Listings

While we do not recommend using Chat GPT to create all of the content on your website, we hope that if you have gotten this far, you have a good understanding regarding the best ways to use it to boost your content.

However, another way that you can use Chat GPT to your advantage is by having it generate catchy rental listings for you.

While you may know that the property you manage is great, you may be experiencing some trouble when it comes to explaining that greatness in an ad. Try typing in your property’s amenities and highlights and then asking Chat GPT to write an eye-catching ad for you.

Once it has been generated, you will most likely have to go in and manually make some adjustments or rewrites, but this process should at least help you get started!

How to Use Chat GPT for Property Management: Bottom Line

As a property management company, using Chat GPT to boost your online content can have huge advantages and disadvantages. As long as you are using this tool correctly and strategically, you will hopefully be able to generate high-quality content at a much faster pace.

By using AI as a tool rather than a crutch, we are confident that you will be able to take your online marketing campaign to the next level in no time.
