An Update on the New NARPM Members Directory

3 min

Since the unveiling of the updated NARPM Members Directory during Broker/Owner 2025, the Blanket team has worked almost daily with NARPM’s leadership to make sure the directory functions to the best of its ability.

We’ve received a lot of feedback from NARPM members regarding bugs, suggested features, as well as comments concerning data privacy.

This post addresses all of that. Below is an update covering changes to the directory, several bugs and their fixes, as well as an explanation of our No-Use data privacy agreement with NARPM.

Feature Updates & Bug Fixes

  1. Spam Bots: We enabled a robust Web Application Firewall (WAF) (powered by AWS) on the site that blocks bot submissions. The WAF has blocked 634 bot submissions to date.
  2. Bulk Send Limit: To combat human spam submissions, bulk send is now capped at 5 contacts at a time. We are closely monitoring spam issues and will introduce advanced measures if needed.
  3. Operating Areas: Members can now set operating areas by county — a much-requested feature. And search logic now includes both office address and operating counties for more accurate discoverability.
  4. Search Algorithm:
    1. Now gives partial credit for incomplete profiles.
    2. More complete profiles still rank higher.
    3. NARPM designations (MPM, RMP, CSS) increase visibility.
    4. CRMCs now get a stronger visibility boost in the ranking algorithm.
  5. Non-NARPM Designations: All non-NARPM designations have been removed.
  6. Missing States/Cities: Previously missing locations have been added.
  7. Link to update profile: Previously, there was no way to receive a secure link to update your profile except via an invite email. Now, there is a link at the top of the front page of the directory.
  8. Other minor fixes:
    1. Fixed several small community-reported bugs.
    2. Ongoing UI/UX updates to improve usability (e.g., clearer “Update Profile” button).

As we continue to improve the Members Directory, we want you to know that transparency remains a top priority.

You won’t have to wonder what’s happening behind the scenes because we’ll keep you informed every step of the way with updates similar to this one.

Data Privacy Concerns

We understand that many NARPM members have concerns with Blanket’s access to member data through this project. To put it plain and simple, while we must have access to member data for technical reasons, we have not and will never use your data in unapproved or inappropriate ways!

At the outset of this project, we agreed to a strict No-Use policy. This policy makes it clear that Blanket is not allowed to use NARPM member data in unapproved ways, meaning we are only allowed to use member data in the same way that other vendors do, which is limited to conference attendee lists used for marketing purposes.

There are strong incentives in place to ensure that Blanket adheres to this policy. Should we be found using member data in unapproved ways, we will be removed from all forms of participation with NARPM, including but not limited to losing our partner sponsorship and the ability to attend NARPM events.

Outside of the No-Use policy, using your data in unapproved ways would violate your privacy and your trust, two things we take very seriously.

We love NARPM and its members, and would never want to do anything to harm our relationships with so many great people in the industry.

Personal Note

In a previous role, I ran the Canada-Israel Chamber of Commerce, a nonprofit that relies on volunteers and donations to keep things moving. I know firsthand how hard it can be to make things happen on a small budget.

That experience stuck with me. It’s why today, working with NARPM feels personal. NARPM welcomed Blanket with open arms from day one, and I feel a responsibility to give back however we can. Helping out isn’t a favor, it’s what we owe.

This is the real “why” behind our work with the Members Directory.

Finally, as a reminder, there will be bumps and bugs along the way. That is the nature of software. We ask for your continued patience and your partnership as we continue to help bring NARPM closer to its members.

Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
